Webcam Saturn

I took this image of Saturn through my telescope using a Logitech webcam (with the lens removed – the telescope acts as the “lens”). I made it by recording a 21 second video of Saturn passing through the field of view of the telescope then stacking the frames in Autostakkert to produce an image which is a pretty standard process for solar system imaging.

And these were taken last year and are the first photos I’ve ever taken of Saturn by manually holding my phone against the eye piece. Pretty big improvement if I do say so myself 🙂 The next step is to get an adapter so I can hook up my new Nikon to the telescope.
